Eid in Dubai

I apologize for not writing enough recently but I was swamped last week with events in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and had no time to sit down and write. To make up for my lack of posts, I bring you today news I find very interesting!

Over a million tourists are expected to visit Dubai from neighbouring GCC countries this Eid. In order to deal with this large influx, Dubai has initiated the 'Dubai 24 Hours' shopping scheme with the slogan "Shop all day, Shop all night." Malls will be open for 24 hours from Thursday morning through to Saturday night with no breaks in between. The idea is for Dubai to become the ultimate shopping destination in the region.

Basically, if you suddenly crave a Louboutin shoe at 4 am or if on your way back from dinner, you decide you just NEED to have that dress at Boutique 1, the mall will be open to fulfill your every desire! Even better, stores will be offering special discounts between midnight and 7 am to encourage you to shop into the wee hours of the morning.

What do you think? Will you be shopping through the night this Eid?

Malls participating in 'Dubai 24 Hours' are: The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Mirdif City Center, Deira City Center, Dubai Festival City, Ibn Battuta Mall, The Arabian Center and Lamcy Plaza. Dates for this event are: October 18 & 19, October 25 & 26, and November 1 & 2
