One of the most things I miss about living in the United States is not only reading about new products, books and items, but actually getting the chance to try them for myself. It's not enough for me to know that some celebrity is obsessed with a new goodie or has read a great book but to actually get the chance to read it. In the U.A.E, items need to be either well known, expensive, or lengthily written about in magazines for the buyers to even consider bringing them to our attention. So many beauty products for example, vanish under our radar. Never to be seen, talked about or tried.
Luckily while browsing, I came across the website POPSUGAR which covers breaking news about entertainment, style and living. They also have something called "The must-have box." Each month, for only $35, they send their subscribers a box full of surprises. Always different, the box is filled with he newest and coolest items that people are talking about, reading, or eating State-side. Whats even greater is that NONE of the products are sample sizes but the real deal!
Here is a sneak peak into the contents of September's box:
- A Brokedown Scarf as worn by Jessica Alba and Vanessa Hudgens
- One of the season's most anticipated movie, 'The Perks of being a Wallflower' movie tickets and book (movie tickets can't be used in the U.A.E but a new book is always welcome!)
- A notepad by Rifle Paper Co.
- Benefit Cabana Glama makeup set
- A chance to try one of Pop-Up Pantry's 3 course meals delivered to your doorstep (The only item not feasible for the U.A.E or Middle East)
- Caramels
- Kitsch hairties
- Yes to Cucumbers Hypoallergenic towelettes
- $25 gift certificate to Tracey Martin's skin care line (she is famous with the celebrities)
- Food Should Taste Good Sweet Potato Chips
- A Popsugar makeup pouch
I am not entirely sure if the box can be delivered through Aramex Shop and Ship but I'm definitely going to try to order the November box!
What do you think? Silly or exciting to receive surprises once a month?!
I guess they can't deliver to us (in Dubai) bummer!!! Do you know of any other "boxes" ? Just one GlamBox a month isn't enough :(
