There is so much buzz these days about being sustainable, recycling and reusing but it is not usually associated with industries like fashion. One of the only ways to recycle clothes is to give them away or exchange them but did you ever think that we can do MORE?
Through their vision that every business should be economically, socially and environmentally sustainable, H&M have done the following:
- They are the No. 1 users of organic cotton in the world
- Save 450,000 litres of water in denim production
- Donate 3.2 million garments to charities
- Employ 74% of females in management positions (go gender equality!)
- Carry out 500,000 quality tests a year
- Educate about 570,000 workers in Bangladesh about their rights
How does this relate to us exactly? H&M have taken it one step further and produced a clothing line this season that you can feel good about buying - the CONSCIOUS COLLECTION. The clothes are comfy and casual and everything is really cool, very wearable and extremely stylish!
On April 4th, they will be releasing their CONSCIOUS EXCLUSIVE collection - glamourous party wear made of sustainable materials.
Here are a few of my favourite pieces from the collection
The best part about this covetable collection is that everything is affordable AND sustainable!
The collection will be sold in selected stores around the world so ask the H&M store in your area if they will be carrying it.
Does sustainable fashion make you feel better about buying it?
